What’s the point of 50-50 Malaysia?
50-50 Malaysia is a volunteer-driven initiative spotlighting women experts in various industries and tackling under-representation head-on. We provide details of women experts in different industries, specify their specialisations, and provide email addresses. There’s no excuse for a lack of gender balance in panels and forums.
Can you vouch for every expert listed on this website?

We at 50-50 Malaysia take complaints about issues like sexual harassment, cyber-bullying and abusive behaviour very seriously. Please write in to [email protected] so we can investigate the matter. Rest assured that all complaints will remain confidential.

Email us at [email protected] and we’ll get this sorted! We also reach out to listed profiles once a year to ask if they would like to update any details, but this process is time-consuming: it’s far quicker to get in touch independently.
I want to be listed on this website but my industry is not listed. How do we fix this?
There is a degree of granularity we seek to avoid when listing industries. For example, if you are an environment journalist you will be categorised under Journalism and Media. We will not create a separate listing for Environment Journalism.
That said, we are consistently updating and adding industry categories to better describe listed experts. In November 2025 we added several including Philanthropy, Fashion, and Animal Rights, as well as decoupling Natural Sciences and Mathematics. I am being cyber-bullied because of details published on this website. What do I do?
Women are often the targets of online violence. This is unacceptable. Send us an email and we’ll support you throughout an individualised remedy process – whether it’s getting you in touch with the relevant authorities, helping you write official complaint letters, or connecting you with support groups. We are also happy to remove you from the database if that is your preferred solution.

Aww, thanks! We like you too. Right now this is a not-for-profit volunteer project so we are not seeking financial assistance. You can show your support in other ways: sharing the website with your mates, praising us on social media, or maybe just taking us out for a drink.
